Hello Everyone,
You might have come across an error which says "Not enough memory" or "operation failed" while playing music player on Nokia 7210 Supernova , 5130xm or s40 v5 phones. This may be due to many reasons viz. obsolete firmware, virus or corrupt media player files. Today we will see how we could fix this without wasting a single penny. If you go out to a service center, they may charge you a lot to fix this little bug. You don't need to be tech savvy to fix simple problems. So lets start with what you are here for today and i assure you that you can do it sitting at your home.
Step 1. You need is a software called OxyCube which can be easily downloaded using any search engine like Google Bing etc. It is a software which allows you to control and manage your smartphone content and settings via PC. Once you download it, install it on your PC.
Step 2. Download the file called mpl_fm_eq.rar . Once you download the zip file, please unzip to your desired folder. Unzipping would give you three folders viz. music player, equalizer and fm radio.
Step 3. Now connect your phone to your PC using a data cable and run the installed OxyCube. OxyCube would detect your phone and would show you all the details about the phone.
Step 4. On the left hand side, you would find a list of tabs, click on File Browser. This will show you a list of all the folders in your phone.
Step 5. Click on Hidden Folder, hit Media player. Now you need to open the folder where you have extracted the zip files. Open the folder which says music player and drag all the files to the Media player, (folder under Hidden folder). In short, copy the unzipped files under music player to Media player.
Step 6. Repeat the above step for Equalizer and Fm Radio too. Copy or drag the unzipped files under equalizer and paste it to the folder called equalizer under Hidden Folder(OxyCube interface). Repeat the same steps for fm radio.
Step 7. Once you are finished with coping the corresponding files to their respective folders, close OxyCube and disconnect the phone from your PC.
Step 8. Open Music player, you may see a blank screen. please don't freak, just go to settings and select a desired theme for it, as it needs to be done for the first time. Once you select the theme you will be able to play the music files on your phone.
Step 9. Connect a compatible ear phone to your phone and turn on the radio. You may see the blank screen again, please go to settings and select Radio theme. quickly set a radio theme and that will be all, you will be able to tune in to your favorite station.
Note: It is recommended to restart your phone after such changes.
This has worked for me and my friends. I am pretty sure you will be able to get your music player playing your favorite songs back on your phone.
I would keep on posting on my blog whenever i come across a fix for such trivial issue.

ReplyDeleteHi Aditya,
Deletei believe some file may have been corrupted for your media player. you can try to reset the mobile to factory defaults and perform a fresh software update using Nokia PC suite. if every thing goes well after that, then its fine if not try the above steps after the software update.
Thanks for support bro .. !
ReplyDeletebut still not getting music player to play ...... "Operation failed" message still showing .... plzzz help !!!!
Hi Abhay,
Deleteyou may try to give a fresh software update on your mobile. format your cell to factory defaults (remember to back up using PC suite or alike)and update the software online using PC suite.Thereafter, try the above steps again. Hopefully it will fix. do remember to follow all the steps above especially copying the files to the corresponding folder.

Try restarting your phone. if possible disable(right click on the pc suite icon at the righthand corner taskbar and hit exit) the nokia pc suite(if installed on your PC). Then connect the phone and then launch the Oxycube.

ReplyDeleteFor others who are finding it hard, download OxyCube from http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/OxyCube-Download-103214.html and then connect your phone via cable(actually I had problems connecting via cable and used bluetooth connection instead) then browse to C:\predefhiddenfolder\ and here you will find folders like MediaPlayer, Fmradio and Equalizer. Just copy the contents(files) of folders under "mpl_fm_eq" to respective folders under C:\predefhiddenfolder\. that's it! works just fine!
